Employee happiness is a key focus at the all-in-one automotive platform CarCollect. Their approach has already delivered great results and has been recognized as an Excellent Workplace. How was this achieved and what does the growth of employee happiness deliver for employees and the organization? 2DAYSMOOD asked after the presentation of the Excellent Workplace Certificate in Roosendaal.
CarCollect is an all-in-one automotive platform for the B2B market. It regulates the entire vehicle trading process in one place. Besides innovation, digitalization and connection, employee happiness is an important core value of the organization. This is worked on purposefully by regularly measuring the employee happiness, moods and emotions with 2DAYSMOOD. "Employee happiness is not a trend as far as we are concerned, but a relevant and lasting theme for organizations. It is an important part of our organization. We consciously work on that. When organizational decisions are made, we always look at the impact it has on teams and engaged employees. That way we can make everything as good and fun as possible for everyone," outlines Lale Izmirli (People Operations Professional) from CarCollect.

Being able to be yourself
At CarCollect, working on employee happiness starts right at the onboarding of new colleagues with lots of personal attention. Employees have a comfortable workplace, where nothing is lacking. Also with a daily catered lunch, fun team outings and for example in December an advent calendar, where the whole month a new surprise is waiting for employees every day. Like a treatment by a masseur, a special message from Santa Claus with a present or their own merchandise. Before that, employees could choose a limited CarCollect print to have printed on a sweater and T-shirt. Izmirli: "Successes - big and small - should be celebrated, and we do. When it comes to an excellent work environment, many people quickly think of giving extras. But even more important, in my opinion, is creating a safe working environment, where people can be themselves."
Valuable insights
To measure how employees experience the work environment, employee feedback is collected regularly with short (pulse) measurements from 2DAYSMOOD. "As an employer, you can think you're doing certain things right, but how is it actually experienced? That's what we want to know. With the feedback from our measurements, we can always move quickly and initiate concrete actions. Certainly for points that can be improved. Earlier, for example, it appeared that internal communication could be improved. To improve that, we have a monthly meeting - also called 'monthly' internally - in which the management involves the entire team in developments. That proved valuable and we see it reflected in the feedback."

Super proud, but keep measuring
One notable outcome is that employees rate this employer with a very high eNPS(Employee Net Promoter Score). This is an important measure of employee commitment and dedication. As many as 68 percent of employees turned out to be superpromoters of the organization. The top five key drivers are also rated very positively. "Overall, we score above the benchmark in all areas. We are super proud of that, but we also remain aware that we must continue to work on being a good employer. The measurements, data and insights of 2DAYSMOOD help us with this. This allows us to take targeted action on the elements that employees find important."
Certificate as proof
The Excellent Workplace Certificate underlines that CarCollect is a great place to work and that this employer values employee satisfaction and sustainable employability. In propagating employee happiness and in the approach, executives have played an important role. "They are the first point of contact for employees and know exactly who needs what. I therefore consult monthly with managers on what is going on within their team and where the needs are."

Key role of managers
The results of measurements are first discussed with managers. They also had a key role in the use of 2DAYSMOOD by employees. "That is a challenge especially in the beginning. The first step was to make the importance and added value for the organization and managers themselves clear to them. They conveyed that to their team. When we send out a survey, managers are notified so they can motivate their team to fill it out." As a result, the response rate at CarCollect is a whopping 100 percent!
Added value for the organization
The value of satisfied employees and the certificate is great for CarCollect. "We find that results are better when people are comfortable in their own skin and feel comfortable in their workplace. It stimulates their intrinsic motivation and the urge to want to perform better and better. How we work on that employee happiness is nicely recognized and underlined by the certificate. This makes us more attractive as an employer in the labor market, for new candidates and the retention of existing employees."
